Welcome to the H Street CDC China Challenge!

For more than 25 years, the H Street Community Development Corporation (HSCDC), a 501 (c) (3) organization based in D.C., has enriched the lives of DC high school students through a variety of life changing experiences. In 2006, HSCDC launched the China Challenge, a language enrichment program, to provide students with the “first step” in a long journey to strive with the “best and the brightest” in the global marketplace.

In addition to learning the language and culture, the experience also opened new doors for them - giving them access to college choices, scholarships, and career possibilities. The seniors in the class were accepted to all 16 colleges they applied to including Harvard University, University of Michigan, George Washington University, American University, Virginia Tech University, Wilberforce University and Grinnell College. They also received over $200,000 in scholarships.
